Conflict in Israel and Gaza, in Photos - The New York Times

rumputhijauau.blogspot.com

More than two months after a Hamas-led attack in Israel killed 1,200 people, according to officials, the Israeli military is hunting for members of Hamas, the group that runs Gaza, including its most wanted man in the territory: Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader it considers the mastermind of the Oct. 7 attacks.

The military has also been bombarding the enclave with retaliatory airstrikes, killing nearly 20,000 people and displacing more than a million of the territory’s 2.2 million residents, officials in the enclave say.

On Saturday, the army pounded central and southern Gaza, pushing its ground offensive deeper into the Gaza Strip and striking areas where hundreds of thousands of displaced civilians had congregated in an effort to seek safety from the onslaught, according to Palestinian news media.

But the strikes, along with earlier Israeli orders for civilians to evacuate northern Gaza, have underscored what Palestinian residents and United Nations officials have long said: Israel’s war has left nowhere safe for civilians to shelter in the small, impoverished territory that has been plunged into a humanitarian catastrophe over weeks of war.

Here are images from Hamas’s attacks and their aftermath.
