BETHEL — The finance board plans to vote Tuesday on its budget proposal.
Board members discussed this week recommending an $80.8 million combined town and school budget, but held off on approving the plan. That proposal would go to a public hearing later this month.
This proposal would increase spending by 3.6 percent and raise the tax rate by 2.5 percent.
It would include $48.2 million for education and $32.6 million for the town.
This would be a reduction from the selectmen’s plan, which called for an $81.1 million budget. That would have increased spending by 3.97 percent. The proposal included about $48.3 million for education and $32.7 million for the town.
The agenda is not yet available online for Tuesday’s meeting, but the board’s meetings are traditionally at 7 p.m. in Meeting Room A.
