Nashville Mayor John Cooper and health officials announced Thursday that the city would begin moving to phase 3 of its reopening plan on Monday.
Nashville had been in phase two since May 23, and previously entered phase one on May 11. The city's "Road to Reopening" map calls for at least 14 days of positive improvement/stability in coronavirus cases before moving to the next step. Phase 3 was delayed last week as cases in Nashville continued to rise.
REOPENING: Nashville to begin Phase 3 Monday, allowing bars and clubs to resume business
Here's what's included in phase three of the reopening plan:
Residents are encouraged to:
- Wear masks in public
- Work from home if possible
- Gather in groups of no more than 100 people
- Stay home if in high risk categories or age 65+
Restaurants
- Restaurants can operate at 100% capacity, or maximum occupancy that can maintain social distancing, whichever is less.
- This also includes bars serving food and close contact personal service businesses.
- Surfaces must be cleaned after every use.
- Live music is permitted.
- Employees screened daily and required to wear face masks.
Gyms and fitness centers
- Gyms can reopen to 75% capacity. Expanded social distancing requirements for more vigorous aerobic activities remain in place.
- Employees screened daily and required to wear face masks.
Museums
- Museums may operate at 75% capacity. Foot traffic control measures remain in place.
- Employees screened daily and required to wear face masks.
Bars
- May reopen at 50% capacity
- This includes other "socially-driven" businesses such as clubs, karaoke bars, transportainment and live event venues.
- Employees screened daily and required to wear face masks.
Large entertainment and sports venues
- Remain closed.
