Residents interested in sharing their ideas for Brunswick County’s next 20 years of planning can still register to attend one of several community meetings scheduled this month.
Brunswick County is hosting virtual and in-person sessions at county parks to discuss the Blueprint Brunswick 2040 project, a 12-month initiative from the county planning and parks and recreation departments to create a Comprehensive Land Use Plan and a Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
The new plans are intended to guide future growth, decisions and investments in infrastructure and serves within the county.
Meetings are scheduled for Tuesday at Ocean Isle Beach Park, Wednesday at Smithville Park, Nov. 12 at Lockwood Folly Park, Nov. 17 at Leland Park and Nov. 18 at Waccamaw Park. Residents can sign up for the 4 p.m., 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. sessions. The county will stream all 6 p.m. sessions online. If there is inclement weather, the meetings will be held at alternative locations. Register here to attend the meetings.
All in-person meetings will be held in accordance with CDC guidelines for COVID-19 safety and with Gov. Cooper’s Executive Orders. No meetings will exceed 25 people inside or 50 people outside.
Masks are required for all in attendance and staff will provide masks to those without one. Hand sanitizer is available in multiple locations around each meeting venue. All registrants will be given a sanitized packet.
Residents can also fill out the Blueprint Brunswick 2040 Public Input Survey. The 28-question survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. Access the survey and other resources and maps on the project at BlueprintBrunswick2040.com.
