Ever wonder why some conflicts seem to never end? You’ll have a conflict with someone, talk it out, it gets better for awhile, then you find yourself right back where you were before you “resolved” the conflict.
The Newport 60+ Activity Center is sponsoring a virtual program on how to resolve conflicts at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24. Lincoln Community Dispute Resolution volunteer and trained mediator Nancy Nash offers people the opportunity to understand their own attitudes toward conflict and a communication error often made that keeps conflict on the cycle.
Nash says conflict is a normal part of relationships, but learning to deal with it in a healthy way is crucial. When conflict is mismanaged, it can harm the relationship. But when handled in a respectful and positive way, conflict provides an opportunity for growth, ultimately strengthening the bond between two people. By learning the skills needed for successful conflict resolution, people can keep their personal and professional relationships strong and growing.
People can register for this session online at https://ift.tt/2TwVHQv — click on the yellow banner and the 60+ Activities tab to register. A Zoom link will be provided to those registered prior to the presentation.
